Makeup Revolution - Mermaids Vs Unicorns Eye shadow Palette

Hi Lovelies!

So I just ordered quite a few products from the brand Makeup Revolution (haul video is on its way)! I had never tried any of their products before but after reading great reviews from fellow bloggers and from the beauty community on Youtube I knew I had to try them! They are a new makeup brand that launched in March 2014 in London! The prices are ridiculously awesome! They have over 300 products with some of these such as their lipsticks starting from £1. Crazy I know!!! So of course I did go a little cray and put in a little (OK quite a big) order online. They are also stocked in Superdrug but I decided to shop on their online store and I must say it was amazing as it was free delivery which was also tracked so I could keep an eye on my order and when it was due to land on my doorstep.

I was super excited when I received my email and text message letting me know my order was on its way! I pretty much ran hoe near enough with sheer glee when I saw my large parcel! I felt like a kid at Christmas! (The danger of online shopping!) So after ripping open the parcel and going through all my new gleaming products I must say I am so impressed. I will be going through the products in various blog posts so I can focus on an in depth review for each (definitely deserved!)

So lets get on with today's review of this amazing product review on the Mermaids Vs Unicorns eye shadow palette. When I first opened this I was amazed by the elegant packaging of the black casing with rose gold letters (obsessed with rose gold!) The colours called out to me with their amazing shimmer! Even more amazing is the price at £4.

You can see how intense the shades are and they are highly pigmented as you can see from the swatches shown. The colour pay off is such a high quality from this drugstore product! Going from left to right the first 6 shades are the mermaid hues (shimmery greens, teals, aquas, turquoises) and the remaining 6 are the unicorns (mystical purples, violet, royal blues)! Which set is your favourite? I am still undecided as all the colours for me are so stunning! This is going to be a great palette to show some tutorials on my channel and def a smokey eye is called for! My inner mermaid and unicorn is set to emerge haha!

Each shade is so pigmented that they blend like a dream! They are so velvety buttery soft and contains great shimmers and metallic shades. There are no names to the shades but I think the colour speaks for itself! All ingrediants are listed on the back of the palette! I used the Makeup Revolution primer when applying these and the colour lasted much longer than they anticipated crease free! Each shade is shimmer and this palette is both day and night time appropriate! Creating more of a dark smokey eye for night and a light shimmer look for the day!

The palette comes with an eye shadow applicator, personally I do not use these but I think this is great for beginners or if you do not own many makeup brushes! I personally love using the Makeup Revolution brushes with this or the Real Techniques! I mean £4 for 12 shades that's basically 33p per shade! Wow! I am so impressed with this palette and its great for travelling too providing you with numerous eye looks for all occasions! If you want to pick up this palette you can buy it here
