L'Oreal Pure Clay Mask Review | Benefits of Multi-Masking

For me a face mask is the ultimate treat for my skin. I love adding these to my weekly skincare routine. Nothing beats a pamper session with your favourite hydrating mask to give your skin a much needed boost.  L'Oreal Paris have their Pure Clay Face Masks range and I am officially in love. They all contain three powerful clays, (Kaolin, Montmorillonite and Ghassoul) and then they each have their own individual natural ingredient to focus on certain skincare elements. These can all be used on their own or even better by multi-masking, which is where you can use two or more of these together on different sections of the face. So many options and possibilities with their masks and there are currently six in the range, the Blemish Rescue Clay Mask, the Bright Clay Mask, the Purity Clay Mask, the Glow Clay Mask, Soothing Clay Mask and the Detox Clay Mask

L'Oreal Pure Clay masks have quickly become a staple in my skincare and go to products. I am obsessed with the Pure Clay Detox Mask and the Pure Clay Soothing Mask. I love these masks as you can multi-mask with all the options available. Not all parts of your face require the same needs, for instance my T-Zone can be oily, whereas other parts of my skin can become very dry and flakey if not moisturised enough. I love to treat these areas differently specific to their needs. Now when I use a face mask, I don't just use one, I apply different masks to different parts of my face. This combats all my skin care needs by applying various masks rather than just one. It is a skincare trend that really took off last year in the beauty world. For instance in my oily areas I tend to use a mattifying mask, whereas in my dry patches I will apply a hydrating mask.

I love using the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay Soothing Face Mask, 50 ml as this has a creamy texture and gently detoxifies and calms my skin. This is perfect for my skin as it can be sensitive in areas, so if you have sensitive and/or dry skin I would recommend this mask for you. It gently cleanses my skin without drying it out. It contains the blend of three powerful pure clays, as does their other masks along with Mallow Flower Extract. The three clays being Kaolin - an effective clay known to absorb impurities and excess sebum, Montmorillonite - which is rich in minerals and is recognised to help eliminate imperfections, and Ghassoul - a highly concentrated clay with minerals which help clarify complexion. The added ingredient to create the Soothing Clay Mask is Mallow Flower Extract, which is known by dermatologists for its soothing and calming benefits. All these ingredients help the skin to feel detoxified and cleansed.

The L'Oreal Paris 3 Pure Clays and Charcoal Detox Mask, 50 ml contains the same three clay ingredients along with Charcoal. This is enriched with Black Charcoal which acts like a magnet to draw out any impurities. I love using this on my forehead and chin as it works deep into the pores. I really feel this gives my skin such a deep intense cleanse and love teaming this with the soothing mask on my other areas which can be more sensitive. Again this has such a creamy texture and both glide onto my skin so smoothly. I love how they make my skin feel and how soft and hydrated it feels afterwards. My makeup applies so much better when my skincare routine is on point.

I apply these at least once a week but try to aim for 2-3 times a week. On a clean and cleansed face I use a brush to apply these to the different parts of my face. I leave them to set and they recommend between 5-10 minutes and then rinse with luke warm water. Oh the feeling after is just insane and I always feel rejuvenated. These will forever be part of my weekly skincare regime.

Have you tried any of L'Oreals Clay Masks? What are your favourites and do you multi-mask?

  1. That is why the CDC only recommends extended use if the mask maintains its fit and function and is properly stored between the use (if it’s being reused). KN95
